Problem Statement:
Stress, often referred to as a “silent killer,” is a pervasive and persistent problem in modern society. It can have severe, long-term consequences on both mental and physical health. Chronic stress has been linked to a wide range of health issues, including heart disease, diabetes, depression, and anxiety disorders. Stress, if left unmanaged, can lead to a reduced quality of life and potentially life-threatening conditions.
About the Innovation:
Young inventors from DiscoverSTEM have developed a smart system that monitors the stress level of an individual and actually does something to bring it down. The stress level is detected using cortisol in the sweat and if found to be at an increased level, the system makes smart suggestions to the individual.
These smart suggestions are developed based on data collected over time and are most likely to be followed by the user. This innovation was sent to the Conrad Spirit of Innovation Challenge at NASA Kennedy Space Center where it competed with other innovations from over 55 countries and won worldwide first prize.
